• the views or opinions of another individual about the person;
• the views or opinions of another individual about a proposal for a grant, an award or a prize to be made to the person, but excluding the name of the other individual where it appears with the views or opinions of the other individual; and
• the name of the person where it appears with other personal information relating to the person or where the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person;
• but excludes information about a natural person who has been dead, or a juristic person that has ceased to exist, for more than 20 years.

 

POPIA refers to the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

 

Regulator refers to the Information Regulator.

 

Traffic Data is the data processed from the computer or data relating a communication by means of computer programming, systems or networks that form part in the conveyancing of communication.

 

User is the individual using a device or computer to access this website.

 

Web Browser is the application used to access and view the website.

 

Personal Information

LIMS &/ Orthotics.com only collects the personal information provided for from the User.  All personal Information provided on the site shall be stored under the regulations and provisions provided for in POPIA and the Employers Policy Manual.

Use and Disclosure

Operator responsible for processing information will only use the personal information provided through this website for the purposes it was provided for.

 

No Operator shall make your personal information available to any third party unless it is necessary for the purpose for which the information was provided.

LIMS/Orthotics/YourClaim may disclose your personal information for the purpose of administering and improving the site, services and communication. The personal information you provide us will not be shared with operator beyond the extent necessary to administer and improve the website on our behalf.

 

LIMS/Orthotics/YourClaim will only disclose personal information to third parties in limited circumstances that are applicable and required under authorization of the POPIA.

 

Website Analytics

You are capable of visiting the website without having to provide any personal information. In such instances the website servers collect solely the IP address used and not the email address or similar identifiable information. The information on IP addresses is aggregated to measure the number of visits, the average time spent at the website, pages viewed, ect. The identifiable traffic data is analysed with the aim to improve our services via a third-party programme, namely Google Analytics.

 

LIMS/ORTHOTICS/YOURCLAIM may process, store and use statistical information about user website visits for the purpose of website improvements. Information includes;

• The search term used;
• Pages accessed and links clicked on;
• Date and Time user visited the site;
• Referring website and
• The web browser used by the user.

LIMS/ORTHOTICS/YOURCLAIM uses social media and network sharing services to communicate with the public and our patients. When the public communicates with LIMS/ORTHOTICS/YOURCLAIM through the use of theses services, that social networking service may process the user’s personal information for its own purposes.

Services such as Google, social media/networking services, ect. may track your use and preferences of LIMS/Orthotic/YourClaim, while you are logged in to those services their tracking will be compiled into your profile with abovementioned service providers.

These services are regulated and controlled under their own independent privacy policy, not relevant to LIMS/Orthotic/YourClaim

 

Right to access and amend Personal Information

LIMS/Orthotic/YourClaim is duty bound to allow access to any personal information held about the individual to the individual directly, this includes the opportunity to request changes and amendments to individual personal information, or the information of others subject to special procedures and circumstances i.e., parental guardians requesting information of a minor.
